Celebrating Telugu Pride: Sangamam Sankranti Sammelanam 2025 Unites Communities

The Telugu Sangamam Sankranti Sammelanam-2025 was held at the Om Convention Hall in Narsingi, Hyderabad, on January 19, 2025. The event, which attracted over 3,000 attendees, was a grand celebration of Telugu language and culture.

The celebration began with a spiritually uplifting Aaservachanam by Bhagawan Sri Sri Sri Vishwayogi Vishwamjee Maharaj. The event featured distinguished guests, including Tripura Governor Nallu Indrasena Reddy, Kishan Reddy, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Development of North Eastern Region of India, and Dr. Mandali Buddha Prasad, MLA.

In his welcoming address, Sri P. Muralidhar Rao emphasized the collective responsibility of the Telugu-speaking community to uphold and promote their language for generations to come. He stressed the need to root cultural pride while also embracing modernity.

Speaking at the event, Kishan Reddy, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Development G. Kishan Reddy said, “It’s heartening to see those who settled away return to their roots, spending time in their villages during Sankranthi, and contributing to their hometowns through development initiatives.”

The event featured captivating performances of Kuchipudi, Avadhanam, and folk presentations such as Burra Katha and Dhimsa Dance. Esteemed artists, including Ms. Deepika Reddy, Mr. Medasani Mohan, and Mr. Kala Krishna, captivated the audience with their exceptional performances.

The event also recognized distinguished individuals who have significantly contributed to Telugu culture, including cine icon Rajendra Prasad. Guests were treated to a sumptuous luncheon featuring traditional Telugu dishes, celebrating the region’s culinary diversity and fostering camaraderie among attendees.
